| Has anyone used an electronic picture frame? | | I was thinking about getting my mom one for her birthday and preloading it with pictures of us kids, but I've never actually seen one in real life other than in the stores. Do they look good when they're actually sitting in your living room? Can you adjust the brightness? Do you have to turn them off at night?I've been trying to learn more about them ( http://www.redpnt.com/electronic-picture-frame/ ) but it's kind of hard to find good information about them. Do they use a lot of electricity? I don't want to increase my mom's electricity bill.Oh, and does anyone know if any of them will display animated gifs? That would be funny.Thanks!

| ONly last for two years and you have to buy a new digital picture frame viewer | | I just got a Picture frame viewer from my son. We had to get the memory cards since they were not included, but on reading the instructions it says that the internal memory will only last for two years. Now I know it was a small one (small enough to put in my purse so I can show the photos of my precious grand daughter to my friends( but why would they not make the internal memory rechargeable? Is this a case of planned obsolesce? And what happens when I want to get a large frame viewer? Will it only last two years as well? | |

| Has anyone converted a Digital Picture Frame to PC monitor? | | I have been trying to find a small cheap monitor for my Laptop to use in my car to display Microsoft Streets with the laptop in the back seat and the cheap monitor in the front. So far the cheapest monitor in the 7" to 9" range that I have been able to find costs over $300!I have tried a portable DVD player with Video In but the resolution is not good enough to read the words on the display.I was wondering if anyone has taken one of those digital frames apart to see if they could be used as a PC monitor?? | |
